Adrian Lai
Director / producer, managing director of The Factory Movie Studio, MY.
A music production and audio engineering graduate from Sydney Australia, Adrian also studied feature screenwriting and film directing in the prestigious New York Film Academy in New York City.
After 5 years of broadcasting experience and PROMAX Award winning work with Malaysia’s media giant, Adrian founded The Factory Movie Studio in 2007 to create the “ideal environment to create, produce, market and distribute independent film work”.
The first successful film collaboration came in 2007 with J-Blockbuster to produce the short film “Unsecured Loan”, followed by the full-length feature “Emperor” (www.emperorthemovie.com), shot in Germany and Malaysia.
“Emperor” was released in August 2008 with a premiere at the Portable Film Festival, winning the feature category. The movie is available worldwide on DVD via Indieflix.com and iTunes. It was also selected for the 4th Asia Pacific Festival of 1st Films for December ‘08, with a nomination for Best Cinematography.
